Located at the Northeast corner of Route 9 and Towanda-Barnes Road across from Bloomington’s Central IL Regional Airport, just east of the Bloomington IL city limits, sits the historic St Patrick of Merna of Bloomington Catholic Church v.5.
Prior to a second tornado destroying the church at Merna, Denis Photographers was chosen to photograph what was one of the last weddings to take place in the historical church from 1883. After the loss of this lovely old church, property was acquired at the now current location, and a new church was built. The formerly small congregation grew rapidly, and two new additions were added with the new sanctuary having one of the longest center aisles in the area.
This wedding photograph shows how guests would see your beautiful wedding ceremony. This wedding took place on a very cold, snowy February day, and the church still looks warm and inviting. On a sunny summer day, there would be much more sunlight streaming through the high windows. But don’t worry, this new church is air conditioned for a warm day.
Also notable, there is a convenient bride’s room for you to get ready, something that is missing from some churches. As you can see, it is a beautiful place for a catholic wedding. To keep your wedding beautiful, choose us to photograph it for you! We recommend it, as long as you are having a catholic wedding.
